Avengers Beaten, 66-41

The Avengers fell victim to a first-time starter Sunday when Chad Salisbury threw six touchdown passes in the Grand Rapids Rampage’s 66-41 victory over them in Arena Football League play at Grand Rapids, Mich.

Salisbury finished 16 of 27 for 177 yards, and Anthony Hines, Aaron Bailey and Timon Marshall each had two touchdown catches for the Rampage (1-2).

Brian Mann was 26 of 38 for 291 yards and five touchdowns for the Avengers (1-2). Kevin Ingram had 11 catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns.

Colorado 65, Las Vegas 55 -- John Dutton threw six touchdown passes to lead the ArenaBowl champion Crush (3-0) past the Gladiators (1-2) at Denver.

Dutton finished 27 of 46 for 307 yards and six touchdowns for the Crush.

Austin 37, Kansas City 33 -- Donvetis Franklin broke up a pass in the end zone as time expired at Kansas City, Mo., to give the Wranglers (3-0) the victory before 16,523 in the Brigade’s first home game. Kansas City fell to 0-3.

John Fitzgerald was 25 of 41 for 252 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for a score for the Wranglers.

Chicago 56, Nashville 55 -- Matt D’Orazio threw a two-point conversion pass to Cornelius White to send the Rush (1-2) past the Kats (2-1) at Chicago.

D’Orazio, 21 of 29 for 210 yards and four touchdowns, set up the conversion with a 17-yard scoring pass to C.J. Johnson.

San Jose 58, Arizona 50 -- Mark Grieb threw three touchdown passes to help the SaberCats win for the first time in three games this season in defeating the Rattlers (0-3) at Phoenix.
