From a Times Staff Writer
Seven U.S. soldiers were killed in two roadside bombings in Iraq, the U.S. military announced Thursday.
Four of the troops, from the 101st Airborne Division, died Wednesday on patrol near Hawija. The other three, from the 4th Infantry Division, were killed the same day northeast of Balad. The names of the seven soldiers had not been released.
More than 2,285 U.S. service members have died in the Iraq theater since the American-led invasion in March 2003.
