30-Year Mortgage Rates Ease Slightly
Rates on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 6.26% this week, their first drop in five weeks, mortgage company Freddie Mac said. That was down from last week’s rate of 6.28%, which was a two-month high.
Rates on 15-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 5.89%, down from 5.91% last week. One-year adjustable-rate mortgages fell to 5.32%, compared with 5.36% last week. Rates on five-year hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages edged up to 5.96% from 5.95%.
The rates do not include add-on fees known as points. The 30-year, 15-year and five-year hybrid adjustable each carried a nationwide average fee of 0.6 point. The one-year rate carried an average fee of 0.7 point.
