Amy Tan Joins Times as Literary Editor

“The Joy Luck Club” author Amy Tan is joining the Los Angeles Times as literary editor of the paper’s new Sunday magazine, West.
Tan will be responsible for helping solicit and select pieces for “California Story,” which will feature original works of short fiction set in the state.
West launches Feb. 5, replacing the weekly Los Angeles Times Magazine.
