Roberts Has Record Win
Loren Roberts made a 30-foot birdie putt on the final hole for a course-record 11-under-par 61 and a one-stroke victory over Don Pooley on Sunday in the Champions Tour’s season-opening MasterCard Championship at Kaupulehu, Hawaii.
Roberts, 50, had a 25-under 191 total to shatter the Champions Tour record for relation to par in a 54-hole event and also finished with 26 birdies to break another tour record for a three-round tournament.
Roberts topped the tour mark of 22 under set by Ed Dougherty in 2001.

Chris DiMarco won the European tour’s Abu Dhabi Golf Championship in the United Arab Emirates, closing with a five-under 67 for a one-stroke victory over Henrik Stenson.... Annika Sorenstam offset a poor round by teammate Liselotte Neumann to lead Sweden to a three-stroke victory over Scotland in the Women’s World Cup at Sun City, South Africa.
