Burned Body Found in Angeles Forest
The charred remains of an unidentified person were found Monday morning in a camping area in the Angeles National Forest, according to Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies responding to a call at 8:17 a.m. about a person injured in a restroom at Camp Colby, at the 1.28-mile marker of Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road, arrived to find the burned remains of an adult inside the restroom building.
Homicide detectives were called to investigate.
Los Angeles County coroner’s officials will perform an autopsy to determine the person’s identity and the cause of death, deputies said.
