DODGERS MINOR LEAGUE TEAMS
LAS VEGAS 51s
triple A; Pacific Coast League
The 51s are 49-54 and in third place in the PCL’s South Division. The offense is led by first baseman James Loney, who leads the league in batting with a .380 average and was recalled by the major league club Saturday. Outfielder Matt Kemp has done well since being sent down, hitting .385 with a homer and nine RBIs in 39 at-bats. Highly touted prospect Joel Guzman is hitting .294 with 54 RBIs. Pitching has been problematic, with D.J. Houlton leading the team with six wins despite an unsightly 6.08 ERA.

JACKSONVILLE SUNS
double A; Southern League
The Suns won the Southern League’s first half and are in first place in the second half with a 19-14 record. Two of their best players, third baseman Andy LaRoche and pitcher Joel Hanrahan, were recently promoted, but the team still receives solid production from outfielders Tydus Meadows (.284, eight HRs, 24 RBIs) and Justin Ruggiano (.260, nine, 45). Pitching is the Suns’ strength, led by Spike Lundberg (8-1, 2.19) and T.J. Nall (9-4, 2.75). Closer Mark Alexander is 3-1 with 22 saves and an ERA of 0.66.
