Beavers Advance to Omaha

Mitch Canham drove in five runs to help Oregon State defeat Stanford, 15-0, Sunday night at Corvallis, Ore., in Game 2 of their best-of-three series and advance to the College World Series in Omaha. The Beavers won the Series opener Saturday, 4-3.

Right-hander Jonah Nickerson (11-4) limited the Cardinal (33-27) to five hits in 7 2/3 innings. The Beavers (44-14) took a 4-0 lead in the first inning.

Miami 7, Mississippi 0 -- Jemile Weeks hit two home runs and drove in five runs as the Hurricanes (40-22) forced a deciding Game 3 at Oxford, Miss.

The Hurricanes (40-22) moved to within one victory of their 22nd berth in the College World Series and third in four years. The loss ended a nine-game winning streak for the Rebels (44-21).

Oklahoma 11, Rice 5 -- Daniel McCutchen yielded five runs and seven hits through the first four innings before retiring the next 14 batters and pitching shutout ball over the final five innings as the Sooners (45-21) beat the Owls (54-11) to force Game 3 of their series at Houston.

Georgia 11, South Carolina 5 -- Jason Jacobs and Bobby Felmy hit home runs to lead the Gamecocks (41-24) past the Bulldogs (46-21) and force Game 3 of their series at Athens, Ga.
