U.S. Cites Security Risk, Suspends Issue of Visas

The United States has stopped issuing travel visas to Hondurans, saying lax rules in the Central American nation let third-country nationals obtain passports for travel to the United States.
The U.S. Embassy in Honduras said it had ordered the issue of all new visas to Hondurans suspended indefinitely as “a matter of national security.”
Honduras acknowledged last week that it had become a new route for Cuban immigrants bound for the U.S.
