Northwest Can Reject Attendants Contract
Northwest Airlines Corp. can void its contract with flight attendants and impose new terms if the two sides can’t reach an agreement in 14 days, a Bankruptcy Court judge ruled.
The airline and the Professional Flight Attendants Assn. should continue talks in the hope of reaching an agreement before the order takes effect, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Allan Gropper in Manhattan said.
The flight attendants on June 6 rejected a tentative agreement with Eagan, Minn.-based Northwest, which has secured concessions from its pilots, baggage handlers and other unions.
