Pair Injured in Bulls’ Win

Kirk Hinrich scored a season-high 30 points, tied a career high with 13 rebounds and had nine assists Tuesday night for the Chicago Bulls in a costly 111-100 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in which forward Malik Allen was taken to a hospital because of an apparent head injury.

Chicago also lost guard Chris Duhon to a bruised jaw after he was struck in the face in the second quarter. He did not return.

Kevin Garnett had 27 points and 12 rebounds for Minnesota, loser of 10 of its last 13 games.

Allen was hurt in the second quarter after falling and banging his head into teammate Darius Songaila’s knee. Allen remained down for several minutes, and his neck was immobilized before he was carted off. The Bulls were awaiting test results.

Seattle 114, New Orleans 104 -- Ray Allen had 33 points at Seattle to help the SuperSonics hold on despite seeing their 23-point lead cut to three late. Chris Paul scored 25 for New Orleans.
