Another Call for Tolerance

Toussaud, who is a daughter of El Gran Senor, has been one of the most productive broodmares in racing history.

Owned by Juddmonte Farms, she has produced a Belmont Stakes winner (Empire Maker), an Arlington Million winner (Chester House), and two multiple stakes winners (Decarchy and Honest Lady).

Tolerance, another daughter of Toussaud, will make her racing debut today for trainer Bobby Frankel in the third at Santa Anita.

Sired by Seeking The Gold, Tolerance, a 4-year-old, will have seven opponents in the contest, a $46,000 maiden affair at about 6 1/2 furlongs on the grass.

Patrick Valenzuela, who is atop the jockey standings in Arcadia, has been named to ride Tolerance.

Race of the day: Woodford Gale, who beat maidens by 4 1/4 lengths in an impressive debut Feb. 2, will try for a repeat in the ninth race today at Gulfstream Park. John Velazquez will ride the 4-year-old Distorted Humor colt for Darley Stable and trainer Kiaran McLaughlin in the $33,000 allowance at 6 1/2 furlongs.

One for the road: Elkhorn ran well in her sprint debut Jan. 28 and gets a positive bump in class for her second start in the sixth race today at Aqueduct. Eibar Coa, the meet’s leading rider, will be aboard the 3-year-old Cryptoclearance filly in the $60,000 maiden claimer at one mile. Elkhorn, who debuted against $25,000 claimers, is owned by Team Valor Stables and trained by Dominic Galluscio.

Exotically speaking: A pick three using Kelly Mac in the first, Subway Sing and the Greenhill Hail entry in the second and Tolerance, Miss Maestro, Lucera, Zain Lass and Texas Rush in the third.
