A hotel oasis in dusty Nasca, Peru

“MY husband and I recently returned from a trip to Peru, where we visited the Nasca lines -- mysterious ground art in the coastal desert. While the Nasca lines are amazing, Nasca itself is not the most attractive town. However, the Hotel Oro Viejo is truly an oasis in this dusty place. It has cheerful rooms and modern bathrooms, a lovely garden within the compound to relax in, a comfortable lounge and a breakfast area. It is in a residential area, within easy walking distance of all restaurants, the main plaza and bus terminal. The owner of the hotel makes sure that everything is spotless. At the price, it is a real gem.”

Doubles from $32.
