Radmanovic Winning Praise for Versatility

Apparently, Vladimir Radmanovic has fit in well.

In 11 games with the Clippers, the 6-foot-10 forward is averaging 12.5 points, 7.1 rebounds and shooting 49.2% on three-pointers.

A force off the bench, Radmanovic had 30 points, 11 rebounds and made seven of 15 three-point shots in consecutive road victories over the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks. He has had at least three three-pointers in seven games.

“For us, the fit is a great one,” Coach Mike Dunleavy said. “He was the exact kind of piece we’ve been looking for.

“He’s somebody who can play as a big [power forward], somebody who can play as a mobile [small forward], and be able to stretch the defense from the outside.”

Radmanovic scored 16 points in Saturday’s 106-98 victory over the Bucks. His third three-pointer gave the Clippers a 101-92 lead with 45 seconds left, essentially sealing the victory.

When Milwaukee called a timeout after the shot, Radmanovic was the center of attention on the Clipper bench.

“I’m happy and I’m not going to hide it,” said Radmanovic, acquired Feb. 14 from the Seattle SuperSonics for forward-center Chris Wilcox. “I’m really excited about everything that’s happened to me the last few weeks with the trade. I’m just enjoying it, and I think everybody sees it.

“This team has many weapons, and adding the three-point shot that I’m bringing in is opening up everything for everybody. We just have to keep taking advantage of what’s coming to us.”

Swingman Corey Maggette has played no more than 25 minutes in his first five games back.

Is he ready to start?

“For sure,” Maggette said. “I’m always ready to get out there and do whatever the team needs, but Coach isn’t really playing me significant minutes right now.

“That’s fine. We’re winning, so I’ll just wait my turn and bring it off the bench.”

There’s no timetable for Maggette to return to the starting lineup, Dunleavy said.

Backup center Zeljko Rebraca (strained left hamstring) is sidelined indefinitely while he recovers and builds stamina. He has played in only 18 games.
