* The Buzz: Montana’s upset of Nevada gave Coach Larry Krystkowiak and his players their moment in the sun, but Nevada looked badly over-seeded at No. 5, and a second upset appears unlikely. Boston College, despite being taken to double overtime by Pacific, didn’t play poorly, shooting almost 51% in the game. The second game for Craig Smith and Co. should be considerably easier, and the Eagles should be headed for Minneapolis next week.
NO. 3 FLORIDA VS. NO. 11 WISCONSIN MILWAUKEE
* Site: Jacksonville, Fla. * Time: 12:15 p.m. PST
* The Buzz: Florida is entering dangerous territory; it has lost in each of its last three second-round appearances and has not advanced to the Sweet 16 since its Final Four run in 2000. The Gators led South Alabama by only six points at halftime in the first round before pulling away behind G Lee Humphrey, who made six of eight three-point attempts and finished with 20 points. Wisconsin Milwaukee’s tandem of G Boo Davis and F Joah Tucker combined for 50 points in a first-round victory over Oklahoma and will probably need to at least duplicate that production for the Panthers to reach the Sweet 16 for the second consecutive year.
