Times to present L.A. Film Fest

The Times will take on a major role in presenting the 2006 Los Angeles Film Festival, it was announced Thursday by Film Independent, the nonprofit organization that produces the event.

The newspaper will help market the festival and will publish a film festival program guide on June 18.

Los Angeles Film Festival -- A Quick Takes item in Friday’s Calendar said that this year’s Los Angeles Film Festival would run from June 22 to July 22. It runs from June 22 to July 2.

Film Independent said this year’s event will run from June 22 to July 22 and will feature more than 170 feature films and shorts. It will be based in Westwood, with screenings at 11 venues, including the Mann Village Theatre, the Landmark Regent Theatre, the Geffen Playhouse, the Hammer Museum and several sites on the UCLA campus.
