The Defense Department last week identified the following U.S. military personnel killed in Iraq:

Ricardo Barraza, 24, of Shafter, Calif.; staff sergeant, Army. Barraza was one of two soldiers killed March 18 when they were attacked with small-arms fire while helping to evacuate a building in Ramadi, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Ft. Lewis, Wash.

Brock A. Beery, 30, of White House, Tenn.; staff sergeant, Army National Guard. Beery was killed Thursday when a roadside bomb exploded near his fully armored, light-medium tactical vehicle and it was then attacked with small-arms fire in Habbaniya, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 123rd Armor Regiment, Army National Guard in Bowling Green, Ky.

Dale G. Brehm, 23, of Turlock, Calif.; sergeant, Army. Brehm was one of two soldiers killed March 18 when they were attacked with small-arms fire while helping to evacuate a building in Ramadi, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Ft. Lewis, Wash.

Amy A. Duerksen, 19, of Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.; private first class, Army. Duerksen died of a noncombat-related injury March 11 in Baghdad. She was assigned to the 4th Combat Support Battalion, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Carlos M. Gonzalez, 22, of Middletown, N.Y.; specialist, Army. Gonzalez was one of two soldiers killed March 16 in a mortar explosion in Tikrit, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 101st Military Intelligence Detachment, 501st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Ft. Campbell, Ky.

Randy D. McCaulley, 44, Indiana, Pa.; sergeant first class, Army National Guard. McCaulley was killed Thursday when his foot patrol unit was attacked with small-arms fire in Habbaniya, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 110th Infantry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division, Army National Guard in Indiana, Pa.

Antoine J. McKinzie, 25, of Indianapolis; specialist, Army. McKinzie was killed Tuesday when his Humvee was attacked with small-arms fire in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Division in Baumholder, Germany.

Amanda N. Pinson, 21, of St. Louis; sergeant, Army. Pinson was one of two soldiers killed March 16 in a mortar explosion in Tikrit, north of Baghdad. She was assigned to the 101st Military Intelligence Detachment, 501st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Ft. Campbell, Ky.

Nyle Yates III, 22, of Lake Odessa, Mich.; corporal, Army. Yates was killed March 16 when he was attacked with small-arms fire while manning an observation post in Bayji, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Ft. Campbell, Ky.
