Jagr’s Scoring Leads Rangers
Jaromir Jagr had a goal and assist in the third period to tie the Ranger records for goals and points in a season in New York’s 5-4 shootout victory over the slumping Buffalo Sabres on Monday night at New York.
Jagr’s goal gave him 52 goals, equaling Adam Graves’ club mark set in the 1993-94 season, and 109 points -- tying Jean Ratelle’s record that stood for 34 years.
Detroit 4, St. Louis 1 -- Steve Yzerman scored his 690th goal to tie Mario Lemieux for eighth place on the career list and help the Red Wings win at St. Louis.
Carolina 2, Tampa Bay 1 -- Mark Recchi got his first goal for Carolina, Martin Gerber had 23 saves and the Hurricanes clinched a playoff spot at Raleigh, N.C.
Florida 4, Boston 3 -- Olli Jokinen scored in a shootout and Roberto Luongo stopped all three Bruin attempts at Boston.
