A man who jumped into the Yuba River to save his dog has been declared missing, according to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Department.
Samuel Newman, 36, of Sacramento was last seen about 3:45 p.m. Saturday more than a mile and a half east of Buttermilk Bend on the south fork of the Yuba River near Bridgeport.
