Man Throws Sons, Then Jumps From 15th Floor

An Illinois doctor apparently killed his two young children by throwing them off the 15th floor of a Miami Beach hotel and then jumped to his death.
Edward Van Dyk, 43, of Alton tossed his two sons, ages 4 and 8, to their deaths about 8:20 a.m., Miami Beach Police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said.
Police said the mother of the children, Qinuo Van Dyk, 40, heard one of her children screaming from an adjacent room in the Loews Hotel, and when the woman walked into the room, she saw her husband going off the balcony.
