Kenny G tops golf-music list
Music fans and golf lovers find a common link in the December issue of Golf Digest, which includes the magazine’s “Top 100 in Music” list, ranking rap stars, country crooners, jazz instrumentalists and rock ‘n’ rollers by handicap index.
Smooth jazz saxophonist Kenny G claimed No. 1 with an impressive +0.6 handicap. All three of the Gatlin Brothers made their presence felt inside the top 10, along with No Doubt drummer Adrian Young at No. 5. Shock rocker Alice Cooper shares 11th with Lloyd Cole and Dan Tyminski. And Justin Timberlake is tied for 15th with Hootie & the Blowfish singer Darius Rucker and Jason Scheff.
“I traded one addiction for another,” Cooper told the magazine. “But golf is the crack of sports.”
