Sinatra’s essence
IN reviewing the new CD/DVD of Frank Sinatra entitled “Sinatra: Vegas,” Don Heckman touched upon the very essence of this icon when he concluded that his body of work lifted pop music to the status of great art [“At the Top of His Game in Sin City,” Nov. 5].
Sinatra was an absolute master of the dynamics of communication and his phrasing was immaculate. But most of all, his innate ability to personalize lyrics made him the troubadour of the 20th century.
