Palestinian official detained over cash
From Times Wire Reports
A Palestinian Authority legislator was briefly detained at the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip when he was found to be carrying $2 million in a suitcase, security officials said.
Mushir Masri is a member of the ruling Hamas party, a militant group whose election victory led many nations to halt funding for the Palestinian Authority. Masri was released but officials held on to the money.
It was not immediately known where the money came from or whether it would be returned to Masri.
