Myrick helps stop UCLA women

Erin Myrick, a former Bishop Amat High standout, had 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Alesha Robertson scored 17 points to lead Texas Tech to a 75-60 victory over No. 21-ranked UCLA on Sunday in the fifth-place game of the Rainbow Wahine Classic at Honolulu.

Jordan Murphree scored 14 points for the Raiders (5-1).

Noelle Quinn led the Bruins (3-4) with 16 points and had nine assists. Lindsey Pluimer had 15 points for UCLA.

Nebraska 72, USC 65 -- The Cornhuskers’ full-court pressure accounted for several of USC’s 23 turnovers at the Galen Center. Senior center Chloe Kerr had a career-high 25 points for USC (2-3), which had a 36-34 lead early in the second half before Nebraska (5-1) went on an 18-4 second-half run. The Trojans cut the deficit to 69-65 with 1 minute 15 seconds to play before Nebraska’s Kiera Hardy made a three-point basket.
