Cult leader, killer of 5, is executed
From Times Wire Reports
A religious cult leader was executed in Lucasville for killing a family of five followers who were taken one at a time to a barn, bound and shot to death.
Jeffrey Lundgren, 56, referred to the killings during his trial as “pruning the vineyard.”
Lundgren formed the cult in the town of Kirtland after he was dismissed in 1987 as a lay minister of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He said God commanded him, through interpretation of Scriptures, to kill the family.
