300 pounds of explosives seized

Police found more than 300 pounds of explosives during raids in the Basque country and neighboring Navarra region, officials said.
Basque police are on maximum alert after the arrest of eight suspected members of the separatist group ETA and the seizure of explosives and bomb-making equipment Wednesday.
Police believe those arrested could be responsible for 24 ETA attacks, Interior Minister Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba said.
