* at Toronto 2, Detroit 1 (10 innings): Roy Halladay pitched a six-hitter and Alex Rios hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly. Halladay (2-0) threw 107 pitches to become the first pitcher with a 10-inning complete game since Mark Mulder pitched St. Louis to a 1-0 victory over Houston on April 23, 2005, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

* Chicago 6, at Cleveland 4: Juan Uribe hit a three-run homer and Jermaine Dye hit a two-run shot to help spoil the Indians’ 107th home opener, which took seven days to get completed. The Indians had a four-game series against Seattle postponed by the snow. They were forced to move a three-game series against the Angels to Milwaukee.

* at Baltimore 8, Kansas City 1: The Orioles provided Erik Bedard (2-1) with a 4-0 lead after three innings, and Nick Markakis secured the victory with his first career grand slam in the eighth inning.

* Tampa Bay 4, at Minnesota 2: Carl Crawford’s inside-the-park home run and Scott Kazmir’s eight sharp innings helped the Devil Rays stop a 10-game losing streak to the Twins and win at the Metrodome for the first time since June 3, 2004.

* at Oakland 5, New York 4 (11 innings): Bobby Kielty drove in Travis Buck with the winning run with a bases-loaded grounder. First baseman Doug Mientkiewicz dived to grab Kielty’s grounder but had to rush his throw.

* Texas 5, at Seattle 2: Eric Gagne, activated from the disabled list earlier in the day, made his AL debut and finished the game for his first save since June 6, 2005.

* at Boston 10, Angels 1: David Ortiz and Mike Lowell drove in three runs each to lead the Red Sox.
