Jerry Kelly’s hole-in-one helped move him past Ernie Els on Saturday in the PGA’s Verizon Heritage at Hilton Head Island, S.C.

When Kelly stepped to the par-three fourth hole, he was two shots behind Els. But Kelly caught his playing partner with a four-iron shot that hit the green, bounced to the flag stick and dropped in.

Kelly tapped in for birdie on the next hole to move in front, then had two more birdies to extend the lead to two shots. When he made an eight-footer for birdie on the 12th hole, he was three strokes ahead of the field.

Masters champion Zach Johnson shot a five-under 66 and is at nine-under 204 along with Stephen Ames (64), Vaughn Taylor (67), Sean O’Hair (69) and Stephen Leaney (70).

For three days, Lorena Ochoa and Laura Davies have matched each other shot-for-shot at the LPGA’s Ginn Open in Reunion, Fla., finishing every round tied for the lead.

Ochoa and Davies each shot a two-under 70, remaining tied for the lead at 14-under 202. Both birdied the final hole to move four shots ahead of Brittany Lincicome (67) and Natalie Gulbis (71).

Conley Sr. says Oden has not decided on draft

Is Greg Oden leaving Ohio State for the NBA?

Oden’s father told a newspaper the 7-footer is turning pro, while the man who hopes to be Oden’s agent, Mike Conley Sr., said the decision hasn’t been made.

“No. Definitely not. Not to say he’s not going to decide that -- but, 100%, as of this moment, he hasn’t decided,” Conley, father of Oden’s high school and college teammate, Mike Conley Jr., told the Associated Press.

“I talk to his mother every day, and I talk to [Ohio State Coach] Thad Matta every day, and if Thad Matta and his mother and I don’t know, then how can anyone else know?”

Greg Oden Sr. told the Indianapolis Star in a story published Saturday that his son will enter the NBA draft after leading Ohio State to the NCAA title game as a freshman.

“They had an exciting season, but why take the chance on him getting hurt?” Oden Sr. said.

“The process for Greg Oden is, he’s going to talk to his mom today, he’s going to talk to me tomorrow, and he’s going to talk to Thad Matta on Monday,” Conley Sr. said.

“And after that, he’s going to decide what he’s going to do and when he’s going to report it.”

College underclassmen have until April 29 to enter the draft and until June 18 to withdraw. The draft is June 28.
