Mayor appoints two to head city agencies

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa made two high-level appointments Tuesday for agencies that oversee technology plans for the city and coordinate services for children and their families.
Villaraigosa chose a former NBC Universal vice president, Randi Levin, to head the city’s Information and Technology Agency; he nominated Rafael Lopez, interim executive director of the Commission for Children, Youth and Their Families, to the job permanently. Both appointments require City Council approval, the mayor’s office said.
