Bus crashes on way to ‘Dr. Phil’
A charter bus bound for a taping of the “Dr. Phil” show crashed Wednesday morning in Hollywood, authorities said.
The bus struck a car before crashing through a wrought iron fence and striking two trees at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, church officials said. Nobody suffered serious injury in the crash, although 19 people were taken to the hospital, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The driver told authorities that her brakes failed as she left the 101 Freeway at Gower Street.
Fire officials said the bus carried 41 people.
