Always ready to get in the game
THE Super Bowl has come and gone, but football’s still in the air over at the CW, where its series “The Game” and costar Brittany Daniel roll on with a new episode Monday night.
Daniel plays ditzy Kelly Pitts, wife of a star player on the fictional San Diego Sabers. But the West Hollywood resident is too busy to be ditzy in her real life.
Starting quickly
The cast on our show is really close, so after work on Friday we’ll hang out for a bit in the dressing rooms and maybe have shots of Patron tequila and then walk across the street to the La Loggia restaurant on Ventura in Studio City. Or really the bar next door, which is actually called the Next Door bar, where they serve tapas. It’s got a really cool vibe and a funky room upstairs with a DJ. We’ll stay out way too late and maybe hit McDonald’s on the way home.
Healthy habits
On Saturday I’ll sleep in and go to Hugo’s for some green tea, hot cereal with rice milk, and I’ll get a double order of steamed spinach or broccoli, because I love vegetables, even for breakfast.
After that I’ll go to the Kate Somerville spa and get a red- or blue-light treatment, which is really good for your skin. Then I’ll go jogging in the sand in Malibu near Gladstone’s. I’m a Pisces, and I love to be near water. Then I’ll visit my twin sister’s house in Malibu and we’ll cook up some vegetables. Later I’ll run up and down those big stairs in Santa Monica.
In the evening I’ll go to a little restaurant called Buddha’s Belly in Hollywood. Really healthy food, kind of a Zen atmosphere. I love the black cod there and the great vegetables. Then I’ll run by Tagine, Ryan Gosling’s place on Robertson. It’s a dark, Moroccan type of loungey place, and they have the greatest sangria. If I was to go out on the town, I’d take friends to 40 Deuce, because I think the dancers there are amazing, or Area on La Cienega. It’s just beautiful inside, kind of sexy.
Veggies and lingerie
On Sunday I’ll go to Equinox Gym for a workout. After that, I’ll meet my friend Jessica for brunch at Real Food Daily and have double veggies-of-the-day and the sea vegetables. Lotus root is my favorite vegetable. After that, I’ll go to Trashy Lingerie and do a little shopping, then go look at the travel books at Barnes & Noble. I want to go to Africa, so I’ve been reading up.
Then there’s a new place I just love, Coco de Mer on Melrose, a high-end boutique with sexy lingerie, beautiful, stylish things. It’s my new favorite spot. I’ll spend hours there on a Sunday. And next door is Elixir, where they have amazing health drinks. I sit outside in their beautiful garden with a pond and have one of their yummy little tonics. Very tranquil and peaceful. Then I’ll go pick up some dinner at Inaka, a macrobiotic restaurant on La Brea. I’d order ozoni soup with lotus root and mochi. Then I’d go see an early movie at the Grove, and that would be my weekend.
