DWP will buy power from Utah wind project
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
The Department of Water and Power signed a 20-year agreement to purchase enough wind energy to power 39,000 homes. The 185 megawatts of wind energy will come from a facility under development in Utah and is expected to be ready by the end of 2008.
DWP board President H. David Nahai said the agreement, announced Wednesday, would help meet a goal of using 20% renewable energy by 2010.
