Freeway plunge victim was survivor’s mother
A woman killed instantly when the Acura Integra she was driving plunged 75 feet off a freeway interchange in Anaheim was the mother of the 10-month-old boy in a car seat who was apparently unscathed by the accident, authorities said Friday.
Natalie Canton, 21, of Chino was reportedly driving about 80 mph over the carpool interchange connecting the eastbound Riverside Freeway to the northbound Orange Freeway about 2 p.m. Wednesday.
When she braked suddenly, she lost control.
The baby was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange for observation but appeared to be unhurt, authorities said.
