Spill closes northbound Interstate 5 for hours
From Times Staff Reports
The northbound lanes of the Golden State Freeway were closed south of San Fernando Mission Boulevard for several hours Thursday after a big-rig overturned, spilling about 100 gallons of diesel fuel.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident, which occurred about 3 p.m., said Officer Vince Ramirez of the California Highway Patrol. Motorists were diverted onto the 118 Freeway. The lanes were closed until 8 p.m. for cleanup.
