2 ‘Goods’ seek best in Berlin

Robert De Niro’s “The Good Shepherd” and Steven Soderbergh’s “The Good German” will screen in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival, which runs Feb. 8 through Feb. 18.
Among other competition entries, singer-actress Marianne Faithfull plays a destitute widow who unwittingly accepts a job in a sex club in Belgian director Sam Gabarski’s “Irina Palm,” and Danish director Bille August’s “Goodbye Bafana” stars Joseph Fiennes as a white South African prison guard who watched over Nelson Mandela for 20 years.
