WANT to know what Helen, Kate, Evangeline, Penelope and Cate will wear to the Golden Globes?

Good luck with that. Their reps’ lips are sealed with Super Glue this time of year. No one dares talk fashion for fear of spoiling a client’s grand entrance on the Globes carpet. But if you want to play the odds, it pays to check out an actress’ style history and see which designers have given the ladies the best fashion raves.

Here’s a look at some winning fashions worn in the past by this year’s Globe-nominated actresses.

“Volver” nominee Penelope Cruz wore a black lace Ralph Lauren to the 2002 Oscars and a pale yellow Oscar de la Renta gown to the 2005 Oscars, accessorized with yellow diamonds. But lately, she’s been seen wearing Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana at big events. Maybe it’s time for a change of fashion pace?

“Miss Potter” Globe nominee Renee Zellweger has worn scads of Carolina Herrera’s classic gowns in recent years. But there’s no gown deal, say reps. She and Carolina are just good friends. She won a supporting actress Oscar for “Cold Mountain” in ’04 wearing a white strapless Herrera. So why mess with a winning formula?

Kate Winslet has made major fashion strides since the green Alexander McQueen medieval gown she wore to the 1998 Oscars when she was nominated for “Titanic.” She’s been seen in countless designer couture gowns for her four Oscar nominations. But her shining moment was her 2005 blue Badgley Mischka gown.

Helen Mirren ruled in a black-and-white Stella McCartney empire-waist gown at the New York premiere of “The Queen.” She wore a white Armani to last year’s Oscars and a white Morgane Le Fay gown at last year’s Emmys. Will white work its magic at the Globes?

Felicity Huffman wore a silver-and-white, empire-waist Marchesa gown to pick up her Golden Globe last year. She chose a more formal, black Zac Posen gown for last year’s Oscars. She’s also frequently looked hot in Vera Wang, who also dressed Marcia Cross in lavender at last year’s Screen Actors Guild awards. Will there be a “Desperate Housewives” catfight over who gets to wear Wang to the Globes?

“Dreamgirls’ ” break-out star Jennifer Hudson wore a gown by L.A.-based David Meister to the Beverly Hills premiere. Will she stick with him or be seduced by a bigger name such as Lagerfeld or Valentino? Or will she be wooed by Roberto Cavalli, Versace or Elie Saab, who routinely dress Beyonce Knowles?

“Notes on a Scandal” Globe nominee Cate Blanchett has worn almost every A-list designer over the years. She’s also worn new designer Marchesa and did a blue Jean Paul Gaultier for the 2005 Globes.

My money’s on a big European name. She’s got three films out and lots of kudos to accept so expect a fantastic fashion show from her this season.
