VNU is changing its name to Nielsen Co.
From Reuters
Information and media group VNU, which was bought by a group of private equity firms last year, is changing its name to Nielsen Co. to capitalize on its largest brand.
The Netherlands-based VNU was founded more than 40 years ago through the merger of two Dutch publishing companies and originally was called Vereinigde Nederlandse Uitgeversbedrijven. The name was abbreviated to VNU in 1999.
