Snuff the cigarettes; they’re a bad example

RE “Heaven Help Her,” by Mary McNamara, July 23: Why, oh why was there a glamorous photo of a blond smoking a cigarette on the front page of Monday’s Calendar section?

How much in kickbacks did you get from Big Tobacco for the plug? How many impressionable kids and adults will get the warped idea that smart, glamorous people can smoke and still look good?

I mean, it’s 2007. We’ve known for over half a century that cigarettes kill.
