A Colombian judge freed President Alvaro Uribe’s former intelligence chief, weeks after he was jailed on suspicion of colluding with illegal paramilitary groups.

Jorge Noguera, former head of Colombia’s Administrative Security Department, was detained in February. “I am completely innocent and I have always said that,” Noguera said as he left prison in Bogota.

A court spokesman said that the release was based on legal and technical errors and that Noguera could be rearrested.
