From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Mildred Garcia, president of Berkeley College in New York and New Jersey, was chosen Tuesday as president of Cal State Dominguez Hills.
The Cal State system’s board of trustees named Garcia to succeed interim President Boice Bowman at the 12,000-student campus. James E. Lyons Sr. had been president from 1999 until earlier this year.
Besides heading Berkeley, a seven-campus school that specializes mainly in business education, Garcia has held high-ranking administrative positions with Arizona State University.
