‘Angels & Demons’ being postponed
The writers strike has claimed its highest-profile movie to date: Columbia Pictures announced Friday that it was postponing production of “Angels & Demons,” the sequel to “The Da Vinci Code.”
In a statement, the studio said the screenplay was “very strong” but added: “We do not believe it is the fully realized production draft required of this ambitious project.”
Directed by Ron Howard and based on the bestseller by Dan Brown, “Angels & Demons” -- with a tentative release date of May 15, 2009 -- will again star Tom Hanks.
