Biennale duty: Qingyun Ma, dean of the USC School of Architecture, will be the curator of the 2007 Shenzhen-Hong Kong Biennale that opens Dec. 1. The theme is “City of Expiration and Regeneration.”

New series: Comedian Lewis Black will host a series for Comedy Central, “The Root of All Evil,” in which elements of pop culture are “put on trial.” It is scheduled to premiere next March.

New time slot: “The Chris Matthews Show,” a nationally syndicated news show anchored by the MSNBC personality, moves from Saturday evenings to Sunday at 9 a.m. on KNBC-TV Channel 4 this weekend. The change pairs the half-hour roundtable with NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
