J.C. Penney pulls leaded Pooh bear

J.C. Penney Co. recalled 49,000 Winnie the Pooh play sets made in China that contain unsafe amounts of lead paint. The retailer also recalled 19,000 Deluxe Wood Art Sets made in Taiwan and Vietnam and 2,400 Breyer stirrup ornaments made in China for the same reason, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said. No injuries or illnesses have been reported.

About 142,000 Toshiba AC adapters sold with portable DVD players were recalled because the adapter can fail and cause the DVD player to overheat. This poses a burn hazard. About 9,600 sequin glitter candles distributed by Christmas Tree Shops Inc. were recalled because the glitter coating can ignite, posing a risk of fire. The company has received four reports of flames or smoke coming from the candle or the glitter coating, but no injuries have been reported. Kipp Brothers recalled 10,000 Bendable Dinosaur Toys manufactured in China. Riddell Inc. called back 2,500 Chinese-made Collectible Jeff Gordon Mini Helmuts, based on the one worn by the race car driver. Flaghouse Inc. recalled 2,400 Kidnastics Balance Beams made in Taiwan.
