Talk about things that make you go “boo!” The American Cinematheque, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Alex Theatre are pulling out all the stops for All Hallow’s Eve. The Cinematheque’s Aero Theatre in Santa Monica rings in the ghoul year with its annual Halloween Horror & Annual Halloween Horrorthon, beginning tonight with 1963’s “The Haunting” and 1944’s “The Uninvited.” Saturday is a dusk-to-dawn marathon with such demonic delights as “Return of the Living Dead” and “Freaks”; the 1976 version of “The Omen” manifests on Halloween. . . . The Cinematheque’s Egyptian Theatre is getting into the spirit Tuesday with its Outfest Halloween screening of the 2004 camp thriller “Seed of Chucky,” starring Jennifer Tilly as herself. The academy is unveiling a new print of the 1982 ghost story “Poltergeist,” tonight at the Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood. . . . And on Saturday, the Alex Film Society at Glendale’s Alex Theatre presents two showings of “Creature from the Black Lagoon” (right) from 1954. Never fear: 3-D glasses will be provided.
