Butter getting ready to churn on Robertson

It’s better with Butter, the name of the new spot opening up at the former Pearl/LunaPark on Robertson in WeHo. Butter should be ready for its close-up in mid-October. Owner Steve Marlton also owns Sugar and the Beach on Sunset, which he managed to transform from the former Dublin’s into a chic beach-themed venue that includes such giant confections as the Tidal Wave, the Fog Cutter and the Wipe Out -- cocktails upwards of 60 ounces. The Beach on Sunset also has a lifeguard station at its front door. Good thing, because you never know when the next celebrity will go under. . . . Also new: The boys behind such scene faves as Katana, Boa and Sushi Roku are feeling lucky. Lee Maen, Craig Katz and Philip Cummins are rolling the dice on Luckyfish, an upcoming Beverly Hills sushi lounge and bar.

Kane is set

to make over

Schwab’s spot

It’s good to be born in L.A. Take the Saddle Ranch Chop House, which originally made its debut on the Sunset Strip before kicking up its heels at Universal CityWalk. The kitschy cowboy bar with the mechanical bull and good-looking staff recently opened a location in Kansas City, Kan. Then it’s on to Scottsdale and Glendale, Ariz., and Reno, Nev., after that. . . As Ivan Kane enjoys the spoils of his Forty Deuce franchise in Vegas, he’s gearing up to debut another concept club in L.A. called Café wa s. The location of what Kane’s describing as a bohemian chic venue with a theatrical twist is at Sunset and Vine -- at the former Schwab’s drugstore spot. He developed the name by keeping the “w,” “a” and “s” in Schwab’s as a nod to the past. Kane was kicking it at his Forty Deuce nightclub on Melrose over the weekend and guests seemed to be enjoying the fact that the audience is encouraged to participate in the burlesque show. . . . Holly’s

West is plotting a fine fete for tonight, as the Santa Monica lounge celebrates its first anniversary.

Dave Navarro, Carrot Top and Nicky Hilton were among the guests over the weekend at Noir, a new lounge at the Luxor in Las Vegas from the folks behind Pure. . . . Luke Wilson hit the Penthouse at the Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica. . . . And Eric Benet and Queen Latifah danced at Zanzibar in Santa Monica on Sunday night. . . . The likes of Micky Dolenz, Paris Hilton, Aaron Eckhart, Denny Hamlin, Blu Cantrell and Jeff Gordon made a pit stop at last Wednesday’s California Speedway/NASCAR party at Avalon in Hollywood. . . . And on Sept. 15, the Shamrock Social Club on the Sunset Strip kicks off Jake La Botz’s second annual “Tattoo Across America Tour.” The singer-songwriter is hitting 21 ink parlors from sea to shining sea.
