Omar Haugabook passed for a career-high 371 yards and a touchdown and ran for 49 yards and two scores Friday night as Troy defeated Oklahoma State, 41-23, in a nonconference game at Troy, Ala.

It was only the second win in 10 tries for the Trojans (1-2) of the Sun Belt Conference against a Big 12 Conference opponent. Oklahoma State fell to 1-2.

Notre Dame backup quarterback Demetrius Jones, the starter in the opener against Georgia Tech, will not be in Ann Arbor, Mich., today for the Fighting Irish’s game against Michigan.

“At 2:30 [p.m. Friday], while boarding the bus to Michigan, I was notified that Demetrius Jones had decided not to make the trip,” Coach Charlie Weis said. “I have not spoken to Demetrius and can only say that he missed the team bus. Any additional comment would be without all the facts.”

New Mexico has received notice from the NCAA of four potential rules violations involving three members of the Lobos’ coaching staff.

The coaches allegedly helped four prospective student-athletes and a student-athlete who was enrolled at New Mexico to improperly obtain credits through correspondence courses at Fresno Pacific.
