* at San Diego 5, San Francisco 4 (10 innings): Khalil Greene homered to left field with one out in the 10th inning to give the struggling Padres their fourth win in 11 games. Greene homered on the first pitch he saw from rookie Dan Giese.

* Philadelphia 2, at New York 2 (10 innings): Pinch-hitter Greg Dobbs hit a sacrifice fly with one out in the 10th, giving the Phillies their major-league-leading 44th come-from-behind win.

* Cincinnati 6, at Milwaukee 5: Prince Fielder hit his league-leading 45th home run to tie the Brewers’ franchise record held by Richie Sexson (2001, 2003) and Gorman Thomas (1979).

* Atlanta 8, at Washington 5 (13 innings): Jeff Francoeur’s bases-loaded single in the 13th drove in two runs.

* Pittsburgh 4, at Houston 3: The Astros have lost eight of their last nine games and 11 of 16 since Cecil Cooper replaced Phil Garner as manager on Aug. 27.

* Chicago 5, at St. Louis 3: Carlos Zambrano is 3-0 with a 1.69 earned-run average against the Cardinals this season.
