Unfair critique

MARY McNAMARA writes that the network producing the new show “Under One Roof” “chose not to send out any early screeners of the show” but that she “managed to see a rough cut of an episode anyway” and review it [“Only the Laugh Track Is Laughing,” April 16.]

Is that fair? Don’t the creators of anything deserve to have their finished work reviewed? If you “managed to see” a rehearsal of a play before the play opened, would you publish a review of it? How would McNamara like it if her editors printed a rough draft of her review?

In the future, please pay artists and craftspeople the respect of critiquing their work in the form in which they intend people to see it.
