RESULTS
* at Seattle 8, Minnesota 7: Raul Ibanez drove in five runs and the Mariners rallied in the bottom of the eighth off Twins closer Joe Nathan, dropping Minnesota out of first in the AL Central. Jose Lopez lined a two-run double off Nathan to help Seattle retake the lead after the Mariners’ 6-3 lead evaporated in the top of the eighth.
* at Texas 8, New York 6: Josh Hamilton hit his 27th homer, rookie Matt Harrison pitched into the seventh inning and the Rangers won their second in a row against the Yankees. New York has lost seven of 10 to fall 6 1/2 games behind East-leading Tampa Bay. After the game, the Rangers put closer C.J. Wilson on the 15-day disabled list with bone spurs in his left elbow.
* at Tampa Bay 8, Cleveland 4: Evan Longoria, Dioner Navarro and Cliff Floyd homered for the Rays. Edwin Jackson (8-7) won his third consecutive start. Left fielder Carl Crawford (sore left hamstring) and shortstop Jason Bartlett (right index finger) were out of the Rays lineup for the second consecutive game.
* Boston 8, at Kansas City 2: Jason Bay had four hits and two RBIs and Josh Beckett pitched effectively into the seventh inning. Beckett, 0-3 with a 5.31 earned-run average while giving up 29 hits in 20 1/3 innings in his previous three starts, held the Royals to two runs in 6 2/3 innings.
* at Toronto 4, Oakland 3: Kevin Mench singled in the winning run with two out in the ninth inning and the Blue Jays extended the Athletics’ season-long losing streak to eight games.
* at Chicago 10, Detroit 8 (14 innings): Nick Swisher hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the 14th.
* Baltimore 3, at Angels 0: Chris Waters held the Angels to one hit over eight innings in his major league debut.
