DAVID STRICK’S HOLLYWOOD BACKLOT

As if being a wife-mother-actress wasn’t enough, Jada Pinkett Smith also fronts the rock band Wicked Wisdom and has a line of T-shirts and dresses called Maja. But why rest there?

Now the 36-year-old Pinkett Smith is adding writer-director to her resume. Her first film in that capacity, “The Human Contract,” is a drama about a successful but unhappy businessman whose life is turned upside down when he meets a free-spirited stranger. Photographer David Strick captured Pinkett in action on the set in December.
